Research Tools: Introducing DiscoverGov: GPO’s (US Government Publishing Office) New Discovery Search Tool

GPO is pleased to introduce DiscoverGov, our new, web-based search tool.
DiscoverGov provides simple, one-stop searching across multiple U.S. Federal Government databases, including GPO’s Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (CGP) and GovInfo.
Come meet DiscoverGov as we release it for public use in this soft launch.

DiscoverGov features:
- Responsive design to support mobile users.
- Citation generator for five major style guides.
- Advanced scoping and multi-faceted filtering for searches.
- Filter CGP Scope results by SuDoc Stem.
- Help content, including tutorials.
Coming in 2025, users will see additional features, Help content, and access points to and about DiscoverGov, as well as improved responsiveness of remote search resources.

Gary Price (gprice@gmail.com) is a librarian, writer, consultant, and frequent conference speaker based in the Washington D.C. metro area.
