You Can Now Rent a ZipCar at Nine Branches of the Brooklyn Public Library
A smart idea and wins for the Brooklyn Public Library (brings people to the library, library as community hub, etc.), ZipCar (more locations and community involvement), and users (visit the library before or after you pickup or dropoff your rented car).
Btw, BPL card holders receive a $30 credit for registering with ZipCar and each car is named after a famous Brooklyn author or character.
From the ZipCar Web Site: (via Brooklyn Public Library):
We bow to the inventors of this whole sharing thing. The library. They got it way before the rest of us. Borrow it. Use it. Return it. Then it’s someone else’s turn. Genius. What’s even better? You can double the sharing when you go to the library in Brooklyn.
